Well known for the quality and elegance of his prints, Moscow-based artist Vadim Gushchin removes objects from their conventional environment and situational context. By isolating the object and placing it center-frame, Gushchin draws keen attention to the subject, suggesting the purity and form of the object. His photographs have the cool simplicity of a still-life integrated with minimal details that suggest a human presence. Gushchin has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows and has been incorporated into a number of public and private collections, such as the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, and The Museum de Arte Moderna, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
