Two Texas artists, Shannon Cannings and Ann Wood, share the Anya Tish Gallery space in an exhibition featuring large oil paintings by Cannings and a mixed media installation by Woods. Both artists are drawn to imagery of common childhood objects that are placed into contexts involving adult concerns. Cannings paints images of toy guns, while Wood creates sculptural works employing hunting decoys and taxidermists' forms.
